Salsa Chicken
When I was putting together meal prep for the week I decided to do something a but easier and change up the grilled taste a bit! I wanted to do a crock pot dish that makes zero mess and I could just put it in and forget about it! Heres the recipe!

A little Tri
I have always said I wanted to train for a triathlon, not actually do one, just TRAIN for one! Participating in one just seemed like too big of a goal. So when did I start training you ask? NEVER. But it was still a goal of mine that I would probably never complete.
That was until I heard about the sprint or “mini tris” that a bunch of other Navy wives were doing. I though “I could do this!” It was a 400m swim, 6 mile bike ride, and 1.5 mile run. It seriously could not get any easier! I think I’m a pretty decent swimmer...biking is an breeze and the run...Id deal with that when it came! After being on a trainer that called for “no cardio” I was a bit behind on that part.
When I finally talked myself into showing up for one it was one of the most nerve wracking mornings of my life. I was SOOO nervous! I figured Id be last, do the worst and go so slow I wouldn’t be able to show my face at the next one. Boy was I wrong!
Since I only knew 2 other people it was really a race against myself. This made it less stressful. I figured what the hell...I don’t know any of them so if I suck they probably won't even notice!
The entire time I was doing the tri I stayed pretty much in the middle of the group which gave me people to keep up with (ones in front) and people to push me (ones in the back). Did that make sense?
Everyone was so supportive and cheered each other on. I was so glad it was laid back and fun! It was hotter than hell and I was not properly hydrated (I should have started the week prior!) but it was so worth it...the tan didnt hurt either!
Here are a few shots from the first 2 I did. They are so fun and I recommend them to anyone and everyone of any skill level! It would definitely be something fun to start in your community with other moms/wives you know. Nothing serious...just have fun and get fit!

A Rant
di·et
When I hear the word diet I think of deprivation, crashing and short lived. I cant stand when people ask if Im on a diet. I refuse to diet. To me a "diet" has and end and then what happens next? If I can explain it as a lifestyle it makes it sound never ending. I dont want to ever stop eating well...who would? I used to swear by the South Beach diet but just like everyone else I know who has tried it..I stopped when I met my goal and went back to my old ways....You know, the ways that got me to my heaviest in the first place!! What was I thinking? It was a circle of never ending defeat.
I want to feel full, nourished and enriched by the foods I eat. I want to eat pizza, pancakes and dessert...but in their purest forms. Their names shouldnt dictate how they are made. I dont want them chock full of chemicals and additives...Who said pizza has to have some crazy proceesed form of food on it? Why cant I benefit from my food?
I want to walk away from my plate knowing Im being fueled by what I just ate-and it actually tasted good.
I dont want to walk away from my plate feeling like shit because I just ate something that had zero benefits and ingredients I couldnt even pronounce let alone find in a store!

Breakfast Smoothie Round Up
You would think waking up at 530 every morning would allow me plenty of time to get things done before actually starting my day...I WISH!
Walking & feeding both dogs, getting clothes ready, breakfast for 3 and actually finishing a cup of coffee is hard to squeeze in before my husband is off to work and we head to the gym. This week I've been trying to fix our breakfast so its quick and frees up more time for us to sit and relax...plus its less clean up!
As we go thru the week Ill add the rest we try out!
